"I visited with my wife and two children for six days over Christmas and we had a wonderful time. The beach is amazing and not crowded. We swam everyday. You can walk to the Mayan ruins, and all the hotel staff is wonderful".
“Pocna was the perfect place for our time in Tulum. The free breakfast, secluded gorgeous rooms, beach access, morning yoga, and very friendly and helpful staff (especially Alex and Carlos) made our vacation one to remember.”
“The Pocna hotel stands out by means of atmosphere, location and overall, the friendly service personnel.||Integrated into nature in the midst of Tulum national park, you find yourself in the middle of the jungle…”
“This was a wonderful place to stay. The Japanese restaurant was a delicious first night meal. The beach staff are stellar especially Juan, Victoria and Marco. Alejandro at the front desk is a charming fellow. The beach itself is gorgeous and catch a boat to go out snorkeling you won’t be sorry.”
Pocna is unlike any hotel I've stayed at. Nestled within the Jaguar Park reserve, it offers something increasingly rare: the feeling of truly living in nature, rather than simply sleeping near it. Barefoot breakfasts, howler monkeys at dawn, iguanas wandering past your door — this is the real thing. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, which genuinely surprised me given the wild surroundings. The staff were attentive and warm throughout our stay. A few things worth knowing before you book (and I say this as helpful context, not complaints): wildlife is a constant presence. Iguanas, coatis, tropical birds, snakes, spiders… they share the space with you. For us it was a delight, but if that idea makes you uneasy, this probably isn't your place. Eco policies are strictly observed. Single-use plastics and alcohol are not permitted on the property. This is part of the deal, and I respected it fully — just come prepared and don't expect a poolside bar. Sargassum is a real factor in early May. The beach was cleaned regularly, but seaweed buildup meant we could only swim in the ocean 2 out of 6 days. This is a seasonal natural phenomenon beyond the hotel's control, so it's worth factoring into your planning if open-water swimming is a priority. Who is this place for? Eco-conscious travelers, nature lovers, and anyone who finds beauty in simplicity and wants to experience Tulum without the party scene. One of the most memorable places I've ever stayed.

Hotel Excellence Awards: Recognizing Outstanding Hospitality
Handcrafted Bags at Pocna
At Pocna, we believe hospitality also means caring for nature and people.
That’s why we support Arbola, a project that transforms food industry sacks into strong and unique bags.
These bags are handcrafted by women from communities in Yucatán and Jalisco —many of them single mothers or caregivers— who work from their homes with the tools provided by the project, creating a dignified and stable income.
Each bag is different, with details that make it truly one of a kind. By bringing them to Pocna, we share with our guests a piece of this virtuous circle of reuse, community support, and respect for the environment.
