CENOTES
natural pools
The cenotes are sinkholes formed by the water filtration through the limestone that caused the cave ceilings to collapse, resulting in gorgeous natural pools of crystal clear water and unique rock formations. Cenotes were considered sacred entrances to the underworld by the Mayan civilization. These marvelous spots can be found only in the Yucatan Peninsula, where travelers and divers enjoy visiting these incredible places in search of a different, fun experience.
